不同硬度硬质合金的应用硬质合金具有很高的硬度和耐磨性，常用于制造金属切削刀具、量具、模具等。通常当材料硬度高时，耐磨性也高；抗弯强度高时，冲击韧 性也高。但材料硬度越高，其抗弯强度和冲击韧性就越低。高速钢因具有很高的抗弯强度和冲击韧性，以及良好的可加工性，目前仍是应用最广的刀具材料，其次是 硬质合金。硬质合金中有一种是以一种或几种碳化物（如TiC、WC等）为硬化相，以合金钢（如高速钢、钼铬钢等）粉末为粘结剂制成，叫做钢结构硬质合金。 其硬度介于钢和硬质合金之间，但是韧性大大提高并且可以切削加工和热处理加工。这种钢结构硬质合金的典型硬度为：经淬火——回火后硬度为 69~73HRC，高速钢65%。
